  • While Lviv is celebrating, Ekotel Hotel “builds” a library

Do not be scared if during the weekend you meet Harry Potter or Willy Wonka, Alice from Wonderland or the Wizard of Oz. They are just the participants of a Book Holiday which is a main highlight of VII Lviv International Children’s Festival.

On 17th-19th of May Lviv Art Palace will host more than three hundred various events. The organizers of the festival expect to welcome approximately 15 000 children aged from 4 to 14 years.

The Festival will start with the participants’ parade in which more than 1500 children in different costumes of fiction characters will take part.

It is interesting to note that a whole celebration is based on the game “Collect the Elephants”. Every completed task set in the game enhances the chance to win one of 3000 presents from partners. The prizes will be raffled on the scene within A Book from a Star Campaign.

A book reading festival “The Book Mania” will be an important part of the International Children’s Festival. It will consist of the final stage of children reading competition “The Best Ukrainian Reader 2013”, the Ceremony of the winners’ awarding and numerous meetings with the authors from Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Great Britain and Switzerland… By the way, literary reading and autograph sessions will be held non-stop during the festival.

Thus, it will be possible to get the signatures of more than 30 favourite book authors such as Maksym Kidruk, Sashko Lirnyk, Maryana Savka, Roman Skyba, Halyna malyk, Oksana Dumans’ka, Oleksandr Havrosh, etc. The Guest of Honor is Ian Whybrow (Great Britain), the author of novels about the adventures of Little Wolf. Joanna Jagiello (Poland) is invited as a Special guest of the festival.

As for the Book from a Star Campaign, it is aimed at arranging meetings of pop and sports stars with their fans at which the celebrities will talk about their beloved books and will read them to children. Another spectacular event is “Night at the Library”. Children will have an opportunity to spend an exciting night with sleeping bags in a children’s library, as if they were in a tourist camp.

In general, Children’s Festival seems to include a range of various interesting events. Everyone will find here something to their liking. There will be 50 types of different art workshops with the total duration of 120 hours. An exhibition and workshop of the Czech artist Veronika Rehorikova and a talented artist from Kyiv Alina Kopytsia are worth visiting too. Moreover, the Festival will feature board games, workshops for children carried out by professional soccer players and famous sportsmen, sport games and competitions which will be held outdoors.

By the way, do you still remember who Petryk Piatochkin is? He comes back! The premiere of theatrical performance based on the book of Natalia Guzeeva “23 Images of Petryk Piatochkin” will be held in the First Ukrainian Theatre for Children and Youth.

On this weekend budget hotel Ekotel is going to organize its own Children’s Festival because little participants of Liutyn Festival will be accommodated in our hotel. However, we like reading books too. Due to this we decided to establish a small library in our recreation area. Now the variety of books is quite modest but it is constantly growing. You may find here the literature for all tastes: philosophical works of Pashkovsky and some books of Korniy, prose and poetry, a couple of SHO magazines and even the books of Ukrainian authors translated into German.

So, do not postpone your trip to Lviv just because you do not feel like going around the city – we have a tasty coffee, cozy sofa and interesting books for you!

    See you in Lviv!

  • Happy Birthday to you, EKOTEL!

Posted on October 13th, 2013 admin No comments

Ekotel hotel accepts congratulations. Soon or, more precisely, on the International Children’s Day, Ekotel – budget hotel with the most comfortable living conditions – will celebrate its first birthday. We are one year old already!!!

Although our hotel is just “a kid”, it has managed to achieve quite a lot by this time. During these 365 days, more than 10 000 tourists from various parts of the world have stepped across the threshold of Ekotel. Even real stars had pleasant dreams in our rooms; one of them was Pavlo Hudimov who signed his autograph for us. Famous jazz musicians also visited Ekotel, since we were the partners of JazzBez Festival. Besides, the participant of the experimental band DrumTuAtr and Koralli rock band were the guests of Ekotel hotel too. Once we were honored to accommodate Thaddeus Rava, a poet from Warsaw. He liked Ekotel so much that he dedicated two poems to it. As for the sportsmen, both children and adults who lived in our hotel during the competitions, we can hardly count a whole amount of them. By the way, the place of location of Ekotel is considered the best for winners, because there are a few sports complexes near it.
Ekotel hotel strives to perform good deeds, thus it always joins different social projects. Due to this, we have recently accommodated the participants of children’s festival Liutyn. In a word, we can speak volumes about our guests because all of them are very interesting and they are worth paying attention to.

It should be also mentioned that Ekotel hotel has grown up and changed by now. The number of rooms has doubled over the last 12 months. So now we can provide almost one hundred guests with a comfortable place of stay at the minimal price. And this is just the beginning of considerable changes; we continue developing further. As a part of preparation for the summer season, we have already installed first air conditioners. It is impossible to look without smiling at lovely pictures of “March Cats by Vasya Lozhkin” which have been recently fixed to the walls of the corridors. Green grass and trees have grown at the reception desk of our hotel. In addition to that, a small library with interesting books has appeared here that is why our guests have an excellent opportunity of reading books and enjoying a free coffee in the lounge area.

On the whole, these are only some of the advantages of Ekotel which was established last year on the 6th floor of a business center (Lviv, Academician A. Sakharov Street 42).
We congratulate Ekotel hotel once again and wish many polite and satisfied guests, development and the realization of all plans. Happy birthday to EKOTEL!
